I had a lovely surprise in December, the amazing Idina Menzel read Robin’s Winter Song on Cbeebies! You can listen to it here.

Here is some work in progress from my next book, The Butterfly Dance, which is out on March 9th.

I am thrilled that Robin’s Winter Song has been nominated for the 2017 Kate Greenaway medal. There are so many wonderful books on the list, including lots from fellow CSA students which is great. Many thanks to librarians for the nomination! Here’s the full list The CILIP Greenaway Medal Nominations for 2107

Taking part in Elcaf is an opportunity to make some new work, so this year I had a messy screen printing session on the kitchen table. This year’s great venue was at the Round Chapel in Hackney. Our Brolly Lolly stand was opposite Nobrow and packed with goodies. I came home with Geis by Alexis Deacon and a […]

Bologna Children’s Book Fair is always a big treat, from the illustrator’s wall where anyone can pin up their work, to the Illustrators Exhibition which shows the best in international illustration. It’s so hard to just buy one or two books, but this year I chose ‘Inseparables’ by Mar Pavon illustrated by Maria Giron and […]

Hifest is a great place to meet other illustrators and buy their beautiful work. Two of my favourite purchases were by Melissa Castrillon and Daisy Hirst

After reading Robin’s Winter Song to a lively group of children at Hay Winter Festival, I showed them how to draw a robin. Here are some of the amazing creations.

I met some lovely children on visits to Early Years settings in Wokingham. Three year olds are very good at making birds and I particularly liked a group effort ‘Harry Betsy’. It was great to find The Dawn Chorus in some of the Bookstart Treasure pack  that Claire from Wokingham Library was handing out.

I was delighted to take part in the BAMB campaign in October, by reading Robin’s Winter Song at the lovely bookshop Mostly Books  in Abingdon. We made birds and ate cookies. Robin also appears on the 2016 BAMB calendar but not until December.
